Russia intensifies strikes on Ukraine as concerns grow over the war's end

Ukraine drone attacks hit Kyiv and logistics, disrupting daily life and supply chains See how strikes, air defense gaps, and retail damage are reshaping the war

Russia has stepped up drone and missile attacks on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine, with strikes increasingly hitting during the day as well as at night. Ukrainian officials say the bombardment is disrupting daily life, including metro service, commutes, and preparations for the new school year. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched nearly 1,500 drones over four days, while officials described damage to warehouses, retail facilities, and residential buildings in the Kyiv region. The attacks have also targeted logistics infrastructure used by major retailers, raising concerns about food distribution and supply chains. Ukraine has continued its own longrange drone campaign against Russian energy and logistics sites. Military analysts quoted in the report said Ukraine’s drone operations have grown more significant, though they also warned that Kyiv remains vulnerable because of shortages of U.S.made Patriot air defense interceptors. The report also cited new claims about Vladimir Putin’s concerns over how the war might end and the political risks of stopping short of his stated goals.
