Stocks making the biggest midday moves: SpaceX, Roku, Tripadvisor, Ferrari
Stocks rise on upgrades, deals and lower oil as SpaceX, Ferrari, Micron climb See the biggest midday movers and what’s driving airlines, cruises and energy
U.S. stocks and several largecap names moved sharply in midday trading on Monday, with gains in SpaceX, Ferrari, Tripadvisor, Generac, Micron, and several airline and cruise companies, while energy stocks declined.
SpaceX rose in its second day of trading after a strong Nasdaq debut last week. Ferrari climbed after Morgan Stanley upgraded the stock and said demand for its special series and collectible models remained solid. Tripadvisor advanced after announcing the sale of its European restaurant reservation platform to American Express, which also gained on the news.
Other moves were driven by company updates and marketwide shifts. Generac said it plans to buy a new facility in Illinois to expand generator packaging capacity, while Micron and several aerospace names gained after analyst upgrades. Energy shares fell as oil prices dropped following reports of a U.S.Iran deal, and lower fuel costs helped airline and cruise stocks move higher.
