Vancouver police say a longtime officer has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged theft and fraud scheme involving more than $3 million.
Chief Const. Steve Rai said Kalwinder Dosanjh, a 26year veteran of the force, was arrested on Thursday after a covert investigation that lasted more than two years. Crown prosecutors approved four counts of fraud over $5,000, four counts of theft over $5,000 and one count of breach of trust.
Police said 19 victims are known so far, but more may come forward. Investigators said the alleged offences took place between 2017 and 2025 and are tied to housing developments. Rai said the case is deeply concerning for the department.
