Google and the UN launch a global data platform
UN System Data Commons unifies UN statistics in one searchable, AI-powered hub. Find verified data faster, build charts instantly, and explore reports with ease.
Google and the UN system have launched the UN System Data Commons, an open platform designed to make global statistics easier to search and analyze.
The platform brings together data from across UN agencies into a single connected resource, helping researchers, journalists, nonprofit workers, and policymakers find information without spending months reconciling separate formats and silos.
The service includes naturallanguage search and AI tools that can generate charts, graphs, infographics, and draft reports from verified UN data. Google says the platform will continue expanding, with a goal of covering 80% of UN system statistical datasets by 2027.
