NSLC American alcohol sales top $1.8M as stock clears in Nova Scotia More than 90% sold, with proceeds funding food security grants
Nova Scotia's Crownrun liquor retailer says it has sold most of the American alcohol it removed from shelves in 2025. As of midAugust, about $1.5 million in U.S.made product remained in inventory, or roughly 10% of the original stockpile.
The NSLC said its firstquarter results showed more than $1.8 million in American booze sales between April 1 and June 28. The retailer stopped buying U.S. alcohol in January 2025 and removed it from shelves in March as part of Canada's response to the trade dispute with the United States.
The original stock had a retail value of nearly $14.9 million and included more than 600,000 units. Since sales resumed in December, the proceeds have been directed to food security and community initiatives, with grants already issued to hundreds of organizations.
