Wimbledon is expanding its digital coverage with new AI features developed with IBM, with the updates set to appear on the Wimbledon app and website as the firstround matches begin.
The new tools include an upgraded Match Chat assistant and a feature called Key Moments. Match Chat lets fans ask naturallanguage questions about live matches and receive answers built from live data, analysis, and past performance records. Some responses may also include relevant photos and video.
Key Moments is designed to highlight the rallies and turning points that shape a match. IBM said the feature builds on Wimbledon’s existing winprobability system and is part of a wider rebuild of the tournament’s digital platform, which includes modernising its archive and adding new governance controls for AIgenerated outputs.
