OpenAI has introduced three new educationfocused plugins for ChatGPT Work and Codex aimed at K–12 teachers, college educators, and college students. The tools are available through ChatGPT Edu and ChatGPT for Teachers district deployments.
The company says the plugins are designed to help users work with the course materials, calendars, documents, and approved apps they already use. The K–12 educator version focuses on classroom planning and creating differentiated resources, while the college educator plugin supports syllabus updates, assignments, and course design.
For students, the new plugin is intended to support study habits by helping them create quizzes, flashcards, study guides, and visual explanations from selected sources. OpenAI also said the releases fit its broader education strategy of supporting learning without replacing educator control, and that the company is expanding partnerships, training, and research in schools and universities.
