Police lay new charges in Toronto murder case
Toronto murder investigation: police add firearm charges in west-end death case See what investigators uncovered after a 79-year-old woman was found dead
Toronto police have laid additional charges in a murder investigation tied to a death reported last December in the city’s west end.
Police said they were called to a home near St. Clair Avenue and Rushton Road on Dec. 9, 2025, where they found a 79yearold woman dead in an apartment. A postmortem later determined the death was a homicide.
Three people were arrested in the case, including a 39yearold man from Peterborough who was first charged with firstdegree murder. Police said they later searched an address in Peterborough and added new charges, including illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm without a licence, and breach of probation.
