Mexico issues arrest warrants in alleged condo scam case

Mexican fraud warrants target condo-flip suspects in Playa del Carmen Canadian couple seeks answers as court cases move forward in Mexico

A Mexican court has issued arrest warrants for a British man and a Mexican woman accused of defrauding a Canadian couple in a condoflip investment scheme in Playa del Carmen. CBC News says the warrants were issued in late July in Quintana Roo state against Harry Robinson and Jacqueline Herrera Herrera. The pair are also seeking to have the warrants overturned in federal court, though the state fraud case will continue separately. The complaint was filed by Cindy Thompson and Glenn Brown of Ontario, who say they sent $280,000 after being promised strong returns on a condo project that never came through. Thompson said the experience has been stressful and that the couple is still waiting for answers as the legal process moves forward in Mexico.
