Senators GM to address Brady Tkachuk trade to Panthers
Brady Tkachuk trade shakes up the Senators as Ottawa lands four draft picks. See what Steve Staios says next as the team resets around its young core.
Ottawa Senators president and general manager Steve Staios is set to speak after the team traded captain Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers on Sunday.
The deal sends Tkachuk to Florida, where he will join his brother Matthew, and brings Ottawa four draft picks, including firstround selections in 2026 and 2029. The move also gives the Senators additional salary cap space as they continue to reshape the roster.
Tkachuk spent eight seasons in Ottawa, scoring 213 goals in 572 games and serving as captain since 2021. The Senators remain focused on building around players such as Tim Stützle and Jake Sanderson as they look to advance beyond the first round of the playoffs.
