Kalshi launches perpetual futures for gold and silver after CFTC approval

Kalshi gold and silver perpetual futures debut after CFTC approval in the U.S. Trade the new metals contracts as Kalshi expands beyond crypto perps

Kalshi has launched perpetual futures tied to gold and silver in the U.S. after receiving approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, according to the company. The contracts went live on Thursday and mark Kalshi’s first noncrypto perpetual futures product. The prediction market platform first received approval for cryptolinked perps in May and has since reported strong trading activity in those markets. Kalshi said demand for commodityrelated products helped drive the decision to expand into precious metals. The company has also sought approval for additional perps tied to U.S. equities, copper and currencies. The launch comes as traditional futures exchanges assess how the new product type could affect their businesses.
