MoonPay to buy North Capital in all-stock deal worth over $60M

MoonPay acquires North Capital to expand regulated US securities infrastructure The all-stock deal adds tokenized securities tools and fuels MoonPay's RWA push

MoonPay has agreed to acquire North Capital in an allstock deal valued at more than $60 million, according to a person familiar with the matter. The crypto payments company said the purchase will help it expand into regulated US securities infrastructure and support its push into tokenized realworld assets. North Capital provides brokerdealer, alternative trading system, transfer agent, and investment adviser services that are registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. MoonPay said the acquisition would add capabilities for issuing, holding, and trading private securities, including tokenized securities. The deal has been approved by both companies’ boards but still needs regulatory clearance and other closing conditions. North Capital will become a wholly owned MoonPay subsidiary once the transaction is completed.
