Jaguar Land Rover plans 4,000 job cuts amid cost-saving push
Jaguar Land Rover cuts 4,000 jobs to slash costs and offset trade pressure See how JLR plans £1.7bn in savings and a new product push next year
Jaguar Land Rover said it will cut about 4,000 jobs over the next two years as it works to reduce costs and respond to pressure from competition, tariffs, and the impact of a cyberattack.
The British luxury carmaker, owned by Tata Motors, said it is targeting about £1.7 billion in savings and aims to lower its breakeven point to 300,000 vehicles. CEO PB Balaji also said the company plans to launch five new products in the next 12 months.
The restructuring comes as Britain’s auto sector faces wider strain, with other manufacturers such as Volkswagen also announcing major job reductions. U.K. officials are expected to discuss the plans with JLR executives this week.
