Brantford Bulldogs add Brian Burke as adviser, promote Gary Roberts

The Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League have hired Brian Burke as a senior hockey operations adviser and promoted Gary Roberts to vicepresident of hockey operations. The team announced the changes on Friday through president of hockey operations and general manager Spencer Hyman. Burke, who will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder later this year, previously led the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and other NHL organizations. Roberts, a former NHL forward and Stanley Cup winner with Calgary, had already been working with the Bulldogs as a senior adviser and director of player development. The team said he has become a key figure in areas such as performance, health and wellness. The Bulldogs relocated from Hamilton to Brantford after the Hamilton arena began major renovations, and the team’s owners later confirmed the club would remain in Brantford.
