Rep. Alexandria OcasioCortez said she is not ready to say whether she will run for the Senate after several progressive candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani won their primary races this week.
Speaking to Fox News Digital on June 25, the New York Democrat said she was "inspired and encouraged" by the results but would not comment on her own future plans. She added that she was not trying to reveal any new political decision at this time.
The wins by Mamdanialigned candidates intensified speculation about OcasioCortez's next steps, including a possible challenge to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. She also has not ruled out a future presidential run, according to previous comments.
