Quebec-made vehicles affected by new U.S. trade measures
BRP trade restrictions hit Can-Am Spyder and Canyon sales in the U.S. See why the Quebec maker says the financial impact should stay limited
BRP, a Quebecbased recreational vehicle maker, says its CanAm Spyder and Canyon threewheel vehicles will be excluded from the U.S. market starting Sept. 29 under new trade restrictions announced by President Donald Trump.
The vehicles are assembled in Valcourt, Quebec. BRP said the immediate financial effect should be limited because most production and shipments for the current season are already finished.
The move is part of a broader escalation in the CanadaU.S. trade dispute and comes as other Quebec companies, including Bombardier, also face pressure from the latest U.S. measures.
