Dozzell to leave Portsmouth for DC United
Andre Dozzell leaves Portsmouth for DC United after a strong Fratton Park spell See why the midfielder’s MLS move matters as Pompey plan for next season
Portsmouth midfielder Andre Dozzell will depart when his contract ends this summer after agreeing to join Major League Soccer side DC United.
The 27yearold has turned down a new deal at Fratton Park. Portsmouth said he made 80 appearances after arriving from QPR in 2024 and played an important role this season, including 39 appearances and two goals.
Dozzell said he was grateful for his time at the club, while Portsmouth manager John Mousinho said the team would have liked to keep him but understood the chance to play abroad. DC United are currently fifth in the MLS standings.
