Quebec teen arrests follow armed assault and police chase in Longueuil See how the case unfolded as investigators weigh possible charges

Eight teenagers in Quebec are facing possible charges after an alleged armed assault and police chase that began in Longueuil and ended in Montreal. Police say they were called to a business parking lot near RolandTherrien and JacquesCartier East boulevards around 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 6, after a woman in her 40s was allegedly targeted by people in a vehicle. She was not injured. Officers later found the vehicle and tried to stop it, but the driver did not pull over. The chase continued into Montreal before police from Longueuil, Montreal and provincial authorities stopped the car and arrested eight suspects aged 14 to 18. Six of the suspects were released with conditions. An 18yearold and a 16yearold appeared in court on Monday and remain in custody. Police say the vehicle was stolen, and the case is still under investigation as prosecutors decide what charges to pursue.
