Pemberton evacuation order: stay clear of Place Glacier Lake spill risks Get updates on flood danger, emergency support and the latest official alerts
The SquamishLillooet Regional District says an evacuation order remains in effect after Place Glacier Lake burst near Pemberton, B.C.
Officials have asked people to stay away from Place Creek, Poole Creek, Gates Lake and nearby water channels because of expected dangerous flows, debris, erosion and unstable streambanks.
The district says floodwaters are expected to peak in downstream channels late Wednesday, July 1, while staff and technical experts monitor conditions and assess whether more emergency measures are needed. Emergency Support Services are available for residents affected by the order, and those needing help can contact the Canadian Red Cross.
