Blue Jays’ Addison Barger to have season-ending elbow surgery

Addison Barger surgery ends Blue Jays 2026 season after right elbow injury See how Toronto's infielder battled injuries after a breakout 2025 campaign

Toronto Blue Jays infielder Addison Barger will undergo surgery on his right elbow, ending his 2026 season. The 26yearold appeared in only nine games this year after dealing with multiple injuries. Barger struggled at the plate in limited action, hitting .045 with two RBIs and two runs scored in 22 atbats. That came after a strong 2025 season, when he hit .243 with 21 home runs and 74 RBIs for Toronto’s American League championship team. His injuries this year included a left ankle sprain, right elbow soreness and back issues. The team said the procedure could be a full Tommy John surgery or an internal brace operation, with recovery expected to keep him out for several months.
