U.S. customs resumes operations at Montreal airport after odor disruption

Airport officials said the smell was first linked to construction materials, then clarified it came from varnish used in an interior paint job in the U.S. customs area. About 20 U.S.bound flights were cancelled, and the airport told passengers to expect delays and check with airlines before leaving for the terminal. The airport temporarily increased ventilation, and the Montreal fire department inspected the area and said the situation did not pose a health risk.
