South Korea’s Hana Bank has reportedly issued a fiveyear, $100 million digital bond using Euroclear’s blockchainbased infrastructure.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the transaction used Euroclear’s Digital Financial Market Infrastructure to handle issuance, registration, and settlement on a distributed ledger network. The report said this reduced the process from three to five business days to the same day.
Yonhap also reported that the bond is connected to Euroclear’s global settlement network, allowing investors to trade it through their existing accounts and systems. Hana Bank and Euroclear had not commented publicly before publication.
