Gulf allies back U.S. pressure campaign on Iran, Waltz says

He said the UAE and Bahrain remain closely aligned with Washington as the U.S. tries to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon and keep shipping moving through the Strait of Hormuz. The comments came as reports circulated about a possible U.S.Iran deal. Waltz said the situation was changing quickly, but he argued that Gulf allies were unified with the United States and willing to absorb shortterm disruption to maintain pressure on Iran.
