Frost to start for Ticats against Alouettes
Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Harrison Frost starts vs. Montreal in Hall of Fame game Toronto and lineup changes aim to spark Hamilton's playoff push Friday night
Harrison Frost will start at quarterback for the Hamilton TigerCats on Friday night against the Montreal Alouettes in the annual Hall of Fame game in Hamilton. Frost replaces Tre Ford, who was injured in Hamilton’s Labour Day loss to Toronto but is available after practising this week.
The switch is the latest move in Hamilton’s ongoing quarterback rotation since Bo Levi Mitchell suffered a serious ankle injury in early July. Since then, Jake Dolegala, Ford and Frost have all started games, and head coach Scott Milanovich said the team has had to adjust its approach because of the lack of stability under centre.
Hamilton enters the game at 49 and has lost three straight. The Ticats also trail several teams in the race for the East Division’s final playoff spot. Along with the quarterback change, the team will shuffle its offensive line, with Liam Dobson moving to right guard and rookie Brayden Szeman making his first CFL start at centre.
Montreal quarterback Davis Alexander will make his 14th straight start. The Alouettes are dealing with several injuries, including to receivers DeVonte Dedmon and Cole Spieker, while Hamilton will also be without some key players on defence and special teams. The game will also honour the 2026 Canadian Football Hall of Fame class.
