Toronto mayoral race narrows, but Chow still leads by 7 points

Toronto mayoral race poll shows Olivia Chow still leads Brad Bradford by 7 points See how cost of living, housing and crime are shaping the Oct. 26 campaign

A new poll suggests Toronto's mayoral race is tightening, though incumbent Olivia Chow remains ahead of Brad Bradford by seven points among decided and leaning voters. Liaison Strategies said 47 per cent of surveyed respondents would vote for Chow, compared with 40 per cent for Bradford. In an earlier poll this month, Chow had 50 per cent support and Bradford had 39 per cent. The survey of 1,000 Toronto residents was conducted on Sept. 19 and 20. It also found that cost of living was the top issue for voters, followed by housing affordability and crime, as candidates continue campaigning ahead of the Oct. 26 municipal election.
