Quebec election agency to send voter mail in French only

Élections Québec mailes des documents en français uniquement pour l’élection QR code, site anglais et publicités ciblées aident les électeurs avant le vote

Élections Québec says it will mail voter information documents in French only for the first time in a provincial general election, following changes to Quebec's language laws. The agency said the mailed materials will include a QR code that directs voters to its English website for those who want information in English. It also said it plans to use targeted ads to reach English speakers and allophone communities. Élections Québec said some voters who are eligible to receive services in English can contact the agency, but it cannot send English documents to everyone who requests them because of the short election period. The provincial election is scheduled for Oct. 5, with guide and notice documents expected in midSeptember and reminder cards later in the month.
