Quebec party leaders prepare for first debate
Quebec debate takes center stage as leaders clash on taxes and services See how each party tackles the economy and the province’s future
Quebec’s party leaders are set to face off Tuesday night in the first major debate of the campaign, with voters watching closely.
The debate is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will include leaders from all five parties. TVA, which is hosting the event, says the discussion will focus on the economy, taxes and public services, as well as the future of Quebec.
The leaders have kept a lighter schedule this week as they prepare. The Parti Québécois is also expected to release its financial plan on Tuesday, the last of the major parties to present that part of its platform. Quebec voters will go to the polls on Oct. 5.
