Former Montreal priest’s release revoked after new child pornography charges
Parole Board of Canada revokes Brian Boucher’s release after new allegations See the board’s concerns, added restrictions and what happens when the case returns
The Parole Board of Canada has revoked the statutory release of Brian Boucher, a former Montreal priest, after new child pornography allegations and concerns about his conduct while under supervision.
According to the board, authorities were tipped in April 2026 that Boucher may have been viewing pornographic material on public transit. He was arrested on April 9 and later charged in August with possessing and accessing child sexual abuse material. Boucher denied the allegations and said he believed his reintegration was going well.
The board also cited earlier concerns that he may have been in contact, directly or indirectly, with family members of one of his victims while attending mass in 2025. It said his behavior showed limited progress despite sexoffender programming, and it imposed stricter release conditions, including residential supervision, a ban on pornography and limits on device access. The case is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 23.
