Vancouver details road closures and security rules for FIFA World Cup

Vancouver World Cup traffic changes: Pacific Boulevard closes near BC Place See road, security, and stadium rule updates before match days begin

Vancouver organizers have outlined major transportation and security changes ahead of the FIFA World Cup, including a prolonged closure of Pacific Boulevard near BC Place. The road will be closed from May 23 until late July, covering the stretch between the Cambie Street Bridge and Carrall Street. Additional traffic restrictions will also be in place around the stadium on the seven match days scheduled in Vancouver between June 13 and July 7. Officials said the event will bring added security measures, including more CCTV cameras and drone use to monitor crowd movement when needed. Stadium rules will also change during the tournament, with FIFA arranging offsite storage for restricted items and setting specific requirements for water bottles and other entry items.
